Kristy Knowles is an Engineer on the Global Certification Team (GCT) focusing on the Common Criteria (CC) and FIPS government certifications. Kristy's 20+ years in IT include working overseas as a contractor for the U.S. Army and U.S. Central Command. With over 10 years of Cisco R/S experience, she has also earned her CCNP R/S and CCNA Security certifications.
Kristy joined Cisco in 2014 with the GCT DoD R/S team and was responsible for Cisco routers achieving DISA's APL certification. She transitioned to GCT's CC and FIPS team in 2017 and is currently focused on NIAP's CC certification for Cisco routers, legacy switches and IoT devices.
Kristy graduated from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg with a Bachelor's degree in English: Professional and Technical Writing. She lives with her wife, Nile, and their two furry kids in Durham, NC. In her free time, she enjoys following the Tampa Bay Rays (and their local AAA affiliate the Durham Bulls), hiking the many local trails in the triangle area, and traveling to Florida to spend time with family and friends.
